In the Lviv region, a 34-year-old officer of one of the law enforcement agencies has been exposed, suspected of attempting to obtain an unlawful benefit for transferring a conscript to a rear unit. Procedural supervision in the case is being carried out by the Specialised Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region.
According to the investigation, the operative officer was approached by an acquaintance who asked him to find out information about his friend, who was undergoing basic general military training in the northern regions of Ukraine and was soon to be assigned to a military unit taking part in combat operations.
The investigation established that the law enforcement officer, taking advantage of this situation, assured the complainant that he had connections with officials of the training centre and could influence the processing of documents to transfer the conscript to a rear unit. For such “services” he allegedly demanded 3 thousand US dollars.
