An organized group of three individuals involved in illegal trafficking of firearms and ammunition over the internet is now awaiting trial following an indictment submitted by the Lviv Regional and Sambir District Prosecutor’s Offices.
According to the investigation, the criminal activity was initiated by a resident of Rivnenshchyna, who created a scheme for weapon sales on a specialized website. Two residents of Lviv region were also involved as co-executors.
In addition to illegal arms sales, a portion of the sales proceeds were laundered through ATMs. During operational measures, the accused were detained and searches were conducted, during which a large quantity of weapons and nearly 10 million UAH in cash were discovered.
The trial promises to be high-profile, as significant assets have been arrested, including real estate and cars totaling over 17.5 million UAH.
According to the law, the accused have the right to defense and are presumed innocent until proven guilty by the court.
