In the village of Stanylia in Drohobych district, a road traffic collision occurred in which a passenger in a car was injured. This was reported by the Drohobych District Police Department.
The crash happened on 22 June at around 20:10. According to preliminary information, the driver of a Renault Megane, a 43-year-old resident of Drohobych district, lost control, left the carriageway and crashed into a concrete fence post.
As a result of the collision, a 48-year-old passenger in the car, a resident of Truskavets, sustained bodily injuries. He was taken to a medical facility.
Law enforcement officers established that the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Investigators from Police Station No. 2 of the Drohobych District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated).
The sanction of this article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ imprisonment with disqualification from driving for a period of three to five years. Drohobych district police are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
