A 28-year-old resident of the town of Turka in Sambir district is accused of producing and distributing child pornography, as well as corrupting a minor girl. The indictment in this case has been submitted for consideration by the court.
According to the pre-trial investigation, the man produced photo and video materials of child and adult pornography and distributed them via his own public channel on the Telegram messenger, which had an audience of several thousand. In addition, he repeatedly committed lewd acts against a minor girl.
Law enforcement officers identified the perpetrator: operatives of the Migration Police Department and the Cybercrime Counteraction Department in Lviv region, together with investigators of the Department for the Investigation of Criminal Proceedings Involving Children of the Investigation Directorate of the Lviv region police, under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation was conducted under Part 3 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining access to child pornography, its acquisition, storage, import, transportation or other movement, production, sale and distribution), Parts 1 and 3 of Article 301 (import, production, sale and distribution of pornographic items), Part 1 of Article 155 (committing acts of a sexual nature with a person under sixteen years of age) and Part 1 of Article 156 (corruption of minors) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation has been completed and the case files have been submitted to the court.
The sanctions under these articles provide for a maximum penalty of up to twelve years’ imprisonment, with an additional ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years.
