The traffic accident occurred on February 7, around 7:15 p.m., in the village of Pidberiztsi, Lviv district. As previously established by law enforcement officers, an unknown driver of an unidentified car hit a 59-year-old local resident and drove away from the scene.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, investigators of police department No. 3 of Lviv district police department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
A complex of operative and search measures is being conducted, law enforcement officers are establishing the identity of the driver who committed the accident and the location of the car.
A pre-trial investigation is underway.
