In the Lviv region, the police detained an attacker who brutally beat a man in a cafe

A 40-year-old resident of the city of Kamianka-Buzka faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to eight years.

As the law enforcement officers established, on December 26 at around 19:00 in one of the cafes in the city of Kamianka-Buzka, during a sudden conflict, one of the patrons brutally beat another, causing him severe injuries, and then left the scene.

Subsequently, the victim, a 34-year-old resident of one of the cities of the Lviv district, was hospitalized, where doctors discovered that he had, in particular, a blunt abdominal injury and laceration of internal organs. After the operation, the patient is in the intensive care unit.

Detectives of the criminal police, investigators and crews of the response sector of the patrol police of police department No. 1 of Lviv district police department No. 1, as well as employees of the Department of Criminal Analysis of the Police of Lviv Oblast were involved in solving the crime.

Through the conducted measures, after studying the recordings of the video surveillance cameras of the “Safe Lviv Region” system, the law enforcement officers established the location of the intruder, a 40-year-old resident of the city of Kamianka-Buzka, and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Zhovkiv district prosecutor’s office, informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in part 1 of article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
