The 60-year-old resident of the city of Morshyn faces a penalty of seven to fifteen years in prison for the crime.
According to the employees of the Stryi district police department, on April 18, around 3:30 p.m., a 60-year-old resident of the city of Morshyn hit her 93-year-old mother, who lived in the same house, on the head with an ax during a domestic conflict. The pensioner died at the scene from her injuries.
The police arrested the perpetrator in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed her about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – from seven to fifteen years of imprisonment.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspects.
