Law enforcement urges youth to report recruitment attempts
“Burn the FSB agent” – in the Lviv region, juvenile police officers, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, are participating in an information campaign. Law enforcement urges youths to immediately report recruitment attempts. Information can be sent to the SBU chat-bot: https://t.me/Spaly_FSB_bot – you can send a nickname, phone number, or other data of the person who is trying to convince you to commit a crime.
Protecting youth from enemy recruitment
This nationwide campaign, within which law enforcement officers visit educational institutions and hold meetings with schoolchildren and students, aims to protect Ukrainian youth from enemy recruitment. Officers inform teenagers about the real methods used by Russian special services to incite them to commit arson, sabotage, and terrorist acts through social networks, messengers, and by promising ‘easy money’. In reality, those who agree to cooperate with the enemy face only three outcomes: death, injury, or prison.
Safety measures for teenagers
Since 2024, more than 600 individuals involved in subversive activities for the benefit of Russia have been detained by the police and SBU. Instead of the money promised by Russian curators, these individuals received suspicions and the prospect of long-term imprisonment.
To avoid falling into the enemy’s trap, teenagers must remember safety measures when communicating with strangers online:
- do not share personal information with strangers, especially that which can be used for blackmail;
- inform parents about new online acquaintances;
- do not click on suspicious links and avoid visiting sites with dubious content;
- verify information received from strangers;
- do not trust promises of big money for completing a simple task – such offers have other, ulterior motives;
- if you suspect someone is offering you money for illegal actions, immediately report it to law enforcement.
Remember: a saved life is another victory. Do not give the enemy a chance to use you as a weapon.
