On December 24, at approximately 8:10 PM, a tragic incident occurred at Kalyniv railway station in Sambir District, Lviv region.
According to preliminary reports, a Kyiv-Chop train struck a 51-year-old resident of a local village.
Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of railway, water, or air transport”). The article stipulates a punishment of five to ten years of imprisonment.
Law enforcement officers are investigating the incident and working to establish all the circumstances.
