Operative employees of the Lviv border detachment, together with employees of the strategic investigations department and investigators of the investigative police department in the Lviv region under the procedural guidance of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office, exposed the perpetrators who assisted compatriots in illegally crossing the border.
As the law enforcement officers established, a 27-year-old resident of the Lviv region created a fictitious enterprise on the territory of Ukraine to carry out international cargo transportation. The attacker concluded “fake” employment contracts, and subsequently information about pseudo-drivers was entered into the “Shlyah” system. The clients of the “businessman” were Ukrainians of military age and those subject to general mobilization. The man involved four more accomplices to organize the illegal transfer. Their services were valued at USD 5,000 from one “client”.
During authorized searches of the residence of criminals and persons who may be involved in an illegal scheme, law enforcement officers discovered and seized computer equipment, mobile phones, document forms, and cash in various currencies, which were probably obtained for the implementation of illegal activities. As well as flash drives, draft records and other physical evidence of their involvement in criminal offenses.
Investigators informed the organizer of illegal activity that he is suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose a preventive measure for the perpetrator in the form of detention with the right to deposit bail in the amount of more than 214 thousand hryvnias.
