A 44-year-old resident of Boryslav was exposed by the employees of the Migration Police Department in the Lviv region, together with the operatives of the 7th border detachment of the State Border Service of Ukraine and investigators of the especially serious crimes investigation department (detectives) of the investigative department of the police of the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv specialized prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Western region
It was established that for 6,500 US dollars, the suspect employed conscripted men at one of the enterprises, where they subsequently produced documents that gave them the opportunity to avoid mobilization and leave Ukraine under martial law. In addition, he provided “evaders” with delivery to the state border of Ukraine, and also provided transportation services.
On March 14, the law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine when he received part of the illegal benefit from the “client” in the amount of 4,500 US dollars.
The detainee was informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
