Detention of Foreigner Wanted for Rape at Ukrainian Border
He was wanted in France, but detained in the Lviv region. A 45-year-old French citizen, suspected of rape, decided to cross the Ukrainian-Polish border, but the border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment reacted instantly.
Document Check Revealed a Wanted Alert
At the ‘Krakivets’ checkpoint, during a document check on one of the travelers, the Interpol database was activated. The border guards informed the Interpol National Central Bureau in Kyiv, where the international search for the detained individual was confirmed.
Cooperation with International Partners
It turned out that the foreigner has been wanted by French law enforcement agencies since the beginning of this year. 🚔Thanks to the effective cooperation of Ukrainian law enforcers with international partners, the wanted person will not be able to avoid responsibility. He was handed over to the National Police officers for further legal action.
