Law enforcement officers thank the citizens for their vigilance and remind them that in case of detection of suspicious or explosive objects, do not try to dispose of or move them yourself – call the hotline 102 immediately.
Since February 24, officers of the Explosives Service of the Lviv Region Police Service have reported about 300 suspicious objects or facts of explosions, and in 20 cases explosive devices have been found and seized.
Each time, law enforcement officers are assisted in their work by three service dogs trained to search for weapons and explosives – Lila, Watson and Jesse.
In addition, blasting specialists are constantly conducting training activities with police officers, other law enforcement agencies, representatives of the Defense Forces, as well as preventive classes with the civilian population. In particular, they teach what signs can be used to determine whether an object is really dangerous and how to act when they are detected.
“Yes, in case of detection of suspicious or dangerous items – it can be left unattended backpacks, bags, children’s toys, rolls near landfills or in crowded places, especially if they are connected to mobile phones, radios, military items , electrical conductors or antennas – do not try to dispose of or move them yourself, call the hotline 102. Immediately report the danger of passers-by and, following personal safety measures, wait for the arrival of law enforcement officers, “said Deputy Chief of the Lviv Police Police Barbell.
Let’s keep the system! Together to victory!
