Court in Lviv Region: Accusation of Illegal Transfer

A man accused of illegally transferring conscripts across the border will be tried in the Lviv region.

It was established that a 25-year-old resident of Drohobych, under martial law conditions, facilitated two men in illegally crossing the border of Ukraine with the Republic of Poland outside of checkpoints. The perpetrator was exposed by officers of the Migration Police Department in the Lviv region together with investigators from the Sambir District Police Department and operatives of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment, under the procedural guidance of the Sambir District Prosecutor’s Office.

The individual provided his “clients” with instructions on the actions to take when crossing into the neighboring country and organized their accommodation in a hotel and transportation to the crossing point in the Sambir District territory.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding, opened under Part 2 of Article 332 (“Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, is complete. The indictment has been sent to court for consideration. The accused faces a penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to seven years with the deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
