
In the town of Boryslav in the Lviv region, a 58-year-old man is to stand trial, accused of attempting to rape a minor girl. The incident occurred on 7 January at around 22:20, when the perpetrator attacked a 14-year-old local resident who was returning home.
The attacker struck the girl several times in the face and attempted to rape her. However, the girl resisted and screamed, which attracted the attention of passing boys. They came to her aid, pulled the attacker away, and reported the incident to the emergency line 102.
Police officers identified the perpetrator, who had previously been repeatedly brought to criminal responsibility, and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the indictment has been sent to court.
The procedural guidance is being carried out by the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office. For the offence committed, the accused faces a sentence of imprisonment ranging from seven to twelve years.
