Prosecutors of the Sambir District Prosecutor’s Office sent to court an indictment against a 52-year-old Lviv resident and a 44-year-old resident of Sambir district.
They are charged with illegal acquisition, storage, transfer with intent to sell, illegal sale of narcotic drugs, committed repeatedly, and use of funds obtained from illegal drug trafficking to continue illegal drug trafficking (Part 1, 2 of Article 307, Part 1 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in the period from April 2023 to January 2024, the men organized an illegal scheme for the sale of Subutex tablets.
To do this, the Lviv resident sent the drug by mail to his accomplice, who then sold it to residents of Sambir district. He took orders by phone and gave the goods to the “clients” in person.
The money received from the illegal sale of narcotic substances was used by these persons to purchase illegal pills and further trafficking.
The offenders were detained “red-handed” – while transporting another batch of drugs.
Almost 500 pills were sold in this way. The total amount of profit from the illegal activity amounted to almost UAH 300 thousand.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Sambir District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
