
In the Lviv region, a former director of a forestry enterprise will be tried for organizing illegal logging.
Prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office have sent an indictment to court against the former director of a state forestry enterprise. He is accused of abuse of office and illegal logging, which caused serious consequences. According to the investigation, in 2023, the director unjustifiably issued logging tickets, which allowed for organizing illegal logging operations.
As a result of these actions, at least 3161 trees were destroyed, including pine, oak, hornbeam, alder, linden, red oak, beech, aspen, birch, and spruce. The total amount of damages exceeds 14.5 million UAH. Prosecutors ensured the inspection of plots and the seizure of permit documents.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the Territorial Bureau of Investigation in Lviv. *According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until proven guilty under the law.*
