In the Lviv region, a group of individuals was uncovered who were receiving pensions for fraudulent disabilities, causing significant losses to the state. The total damage to the Pension Fund of Ukraine exceeds 625,000 hryvnias. The accused face up to eight years of imprisonment for this.
Among the individuals involved are three men and three women, residents of Lviv, Lviv, Drohobych, Yavoriv districts, and a resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, aged between 39 and 47 years. They were uncovered by investigators from Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department in cooperation with operatives from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
In 2022, they provided their personal data for the creation of forged certificates issued by the inter-district medical-social expert commission. The information about the illnesses was false, but the perpetrators used these certificates to be assigned a Group III disability with subsequent pension payments.
The men in the group also used forged certificates to cross the state border of Ukraine during martial law. The pre-trial investigation is complete, and the indictments have been sent to court for consideration.
