Prosecutors from the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office have sent an indictment to court against a 37-year-old resident of the Yavoriv district for the illegal transportation of excisable goods.
The investigation revealed that in October, the driver of a “Mercedes-Benz Sprinter” attempted to illegally import chewing tobacco into Ukraine without excise labels, purchased in Poland. During a customs inspection, 480 cans of tobacco valued at 120,000 UAH were discovered. The goods have been seized.
The exposure was carried out jointly with employees of the Lviv Customs. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Lviv region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
