In Lviv region, a resident of Sambir will be tried for selling ammunition

In the Lviv region, a suspect accused of storing and selling ammunition will be tried. This was reported by MVS.LVIV. The suspect, a 39-year-old resident of the city of Sambir, was exposed by criminal police operatives in cooperation with investigators and employees of other services of the Sambir district police department, under the procedural guidance of the Sambir district prosecutor’s office.

He had previously been repeatedly prosecuted, including for drug-related crimes. It was established that at the beginning of the year, the suspect acquired more than 30 rounds of 9 mm caliber, almost 90 rounds of 5.45 mm caliber, 4 bodies of RGD-5 offensive hand grenades, and UZRGM fuzes, which he stored in his home and subsequently sold to an acquaintance for 11,000 hryvnias.

The ammunition was seized by law enforcement officers and sent for expert examination, and their origin is being determined. The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings, opened under Part 1 of Article 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, has been completed. The indictment has been sent to court for review. The article’s sanction provides for a punishment of imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
