A 66-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district faces punishment for the crime – a significant fine or restriction of freedom for a period of up to three years.
As the employees of the investigation sector of the police department No. 2 of the Lviv district police department No. 2 established, on the territory of the object of the nature reserve fund of the category “Botanical monument of nature of local importance – “Two-year-old ash trees”, the intruder, without having any permission documents, cut down age-old trees of the “ash” breed with a chainsaw. As a result of these illegal actions of the attacker, a cultural and recreational monument of local importance was lost.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings opened under Part 1 of Article 252 (Deliberate destruction or damage of territories taken under state protection and objects of the nature reserve fund) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – a fine from one thousand to three thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or restriction of freedom for a period of up to three years.
