In the Lviv region, the police detained a young man who brutally beat his father, inflicting severe injuries on him.
It was established that a domestic conflict arose between the 20-year-old son and his 53-year-old father, which escalated into a fight. The victim is currently in intensive care, and the suspect faces punishment of up to eight years of imprisonment.
The police received a report about the incident on the night of June 10. The victim’s wife called an ambulance, which diagnosed the patient with “mechanical asphyxia, brain injury, jaw fracture, and head injuries”. He is currently in intensive care.
Operational officers, investigators, and employees of other departments of the Sambir district police department were involved in the investigation. The measures carried out by law enforcement officers established that the victim’s injuries were inflicted by his son.
The perpetrator was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He has been notified of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional severe bodily injury) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty under this article is imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
