
In the Lviv region, police are investigating the circumstances of a road traffic collision in which a woman driving a minibus was killed. This was reported by the Stryi District Police Department.
The crash occurred on 30 May at around 20:00 within the village limits of Holeshiv in Stryi district. According to preliminary police findings, a 57-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region, while driving an Opel Movano minibus, lost control and the vehicle overturned into a roadside ditch.
The woman died at the scene from her injuries.
Investigators from the Stryi District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules or the operation of transport by persons driving vehicles.
The article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, with a possible additional disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years or without such disqualification. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and police are establishing all the circumstances of the collision.
