On 25 June in Yavoriv district, a 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in Lake Pishchane near the town of Novoyavorivsk. Rescuers were informed about the child missing in the water at 19:05.
At 21:20, divers from the Lviv Central Rescue and Diving Service discovered the body of the boy, born in 2012, at a depth of 11 metres and approximately 10 metres from the shore. The child’s body was brought to the surface and handed over to law enforcement officers.
Rescuers urge parents to be vigilant about children’s safety near bodies of water, to explain the rules of behaviour on the water and not to leave them unsupervised.
