In the Lviv region, a pensioner was injured after being hit by a truck – police are establishing the circumstances.
The road traffic accident occurred on July 17 around 10:00 on Sichovyh Striltsiv Street in the town of Zhydachiv, Stryi district.
According to preliminary police findings, the driver of a MAN truck, a 45-year-old resident of Lviv, hit a 75-year-old resident of one of the district’s villages. As a result of the collision, the woman sustained bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Investigators from the transport crime investigation department of the Lviv police investigative unit have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty under this article includes imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such deprivation.
Police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
