
In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers exposed a perpetrator suspected of influence peddling for obtaining a deferral from mobilization.
It was established that a 29-year-old resident of one of the villages in the Drohobych district promised to influence officials for $21,000. His goal was to manufacture medical documents for assigning disability groups to two men liable for military service. This would have allowed them to obtain a deferral from being called up for military service.
The perpetrator was exposed by investigators from the general criminal investigation unit of the Lviv region police. Procedural guidance was provided by the Lviv specialized prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Western region.
He has been notified of suspicion in committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with confiscation of property. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
