In Lviv region, a woman injured in a Volksvagen collision

In the Lviv region, a woman was injured as a result of a Volksvagen collision. Police are investigating the circumstances of the traffic accident that occurred on February 27 around 17:40 in the city of Novoyavorivsk. Preliminary investigations by law enforcement officers indicate that the driver of a Volksvagen Golf, a 70-year-old local resident, hit a 41-year-old resident of Novoyavorivsk who was crossing the roadway within a pedestrian crossing. As a result of the collision, the woman sustained bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital. Investigators from the Yavoriv district police department have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is up to three years of restriction of liberty, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
