
A car driver was killed and a five-year-old boy injured in a collision with a truck in Lviv region
The accident occurred on 18 May, at around 15.00, on the Kyiv-Chop motorway near the village of Krasiv, Stryi district.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that a Kia Cerato driven by a 36-year-old resident of Stryi district collided with an Iveco 50C/35 truck driven by a 37-year-old resident of Rivne region.
The driver of the car died on the spot as a result of the accident, and his passenger, a five-year-old resident of Stryi district, was injured and hospitalised.
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
