In the Zolochiv district, law enforcement officers uncovered a man who was illegally storing ammunition. A 35-year-old resident of one of the local villages was discovered thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Zolochiv police and prosecutor’s office.
The man stored in an outbuilding at his relative’s homestead 15 items resembling grenade casings, detonators, and nearly 1,200 universal cartridges. The physical evidence has been seized and sent for expert examination.
The suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and has been charged with violating part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code.
The penalty provision entails imprisonment for a term of three to seven years. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, as are efforts to establish the sources of the ammunition.
