
At the border crossing points «Krakivets – Korczowa» and «Shehyni – Medyka» in Lviv region, customs officers together with border guards uncovered consignments of undeclared branded goods with a total estimated value of around UAH 1.5 million.
At Krakivets – Korczowa, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus entered Ukraine. The driver chose the ‘red channel’ but failed to declare goods subject to compulsory written declaration. During an inspection of the vehicle interior, undeclared items were found in cardboard boxes.
The seized items included Dior, Prada, Loro Piana, Loewe and Louis Vuitton footwear; Prada, Celine and Gucci clothing and accessories; a Cartier ring; as well as women’s handbags by Delvaux, The Row, Goyard, Louis Vuitton and Loro Piana. The indicative value of these goods was assessed at approximately UAH 1 million.
At the Shehyni – Medyka crossing point, during an inspection of a Mercedes-Benz car travelling from the Republic of Poland, customs officials discovered another consignment of undeclared goods: clothing, footwear, accessories and textile products of the brands CHANEL, ON, PUCCI and GUCCI, as well as women’s leather handbags and yarn. Their preliminary value was put at around UAH 480,000.
In both cases, customs officers drew up reports on breaches of customs regulations under Part 2 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
