
In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers have exposed the former deputy director of one of the state enterprises of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, who is suspected of causing losses of more than 1 million hryvnias to the state budget. This was reported by the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region and the Specialised Defence Prosecutor’s Office for the Western region.
According to preliminary investigation data, during 2022–2024 the deputy director for economic affairs, a 34-year-old resident of Chernivtsi, without approval from the State Property Fund of Ukraine or its structural units, concluded lease agreements for state and municipal property with other enterprises and private entrepreneurs.
As a result of this activity, no funds for the services provided were transferred to the state budget, amounting to 1 million 66 thousand hryvnias.
The suspect was exposed by investigators of the department for the investigation of crimes in the sphere of economic and official activity of the investigative directorate of the Lviv region police, together with operatives of the SBU Office in the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Specialised Defence Prosecutor’s Office for the Western region.
Investigators have notified the man that he is suspected of committing a criminal offence under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position). The sanction of this article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to six years, with disqualification from holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years, as well as a fine ranging from five hundred to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens.
