Drug Dealer of Methadone Exposed in Lviv Region

In the Lviv region, police exposed a drug dealer suspected of acquiring and distributing methadone.

Law enforcement documented several instances of the suspect selling the drug via hand-to-hand exchanges, as well as through mail. For his actions, he faces up to ten years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Operatives and investigators from the Police Division No. 2 of the Stryi District Police Department established that a 43-year-old resident of Mykolaiv city, previously repeatedly convicted for property and other crimes, had set up a scheme for supplying and selling methadone in the community and neighboring regions.

Investigators of the territorial unit, under the procedural direction of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, charged the detainee with a criminal offense under Part 1, 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipping, or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogs) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
