Organized Channel for Illegal Border Crossing Exposed in Lviv Region

Near the “Krakivets” checkpoint in Lviv Region, a 38-year-old woman from Lviv was detained for organizing an illegal channel to help men of conscription age flee abroad. Her scheme unraveled when she attempted to bribe an officer from the 7th Border Carpathian Detachment.

The woman recruited clients online, charging between $7,000 and $10,000 for her services. She received $10,000 from a 43-year-old man from Lviv who planned to travel to Spain, promising to facilitate his illegal border crossing. Out of this sum, $7,000 was intended as a bribe for a border officer. However, the officer refused the bribe and reported the case to law enforcement.

The suspect was caught red-handed while attempting to offer the bribe. She is now under pretrial detention and faces charges under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Article 369 (offering improper benefits to an official) and Article 332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border).

The operation was conducted by officers of the Western Regional Internal Security Service, the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv Region, and investigators from the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv Region under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office in the Western Region.
