A scheme of illegal border crossing for men was uncovered in the Lviv region.
Operatives from the 7th Border Carpathian Unit, together with police officers and under the guidance of the Zhovkva District Prosecutor’s Office, dismantled a channel for illegally crossing the state border. **Two men** planned to travel to Poland using forged documents that indicated their affiliation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their being on leave. For 11,000 US dollars, the scheme organizer prepared fake documents for them to enable them to leave the country during martial law.
The law enforcement identified the organizer as a 32-year-old resident of the Zolochiv district. During searches, mobile phones, computer equipment, rough notes, and other physical evidence relevant to the ongoing pre-trial investigation were seized.
The suspect was notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across the state border). The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment from 7 to 9 years. Currently, the suspect is in custody with the possibility of posting bail.
