A scheme for receiving undue benefit for the issuance of fake medical documents has been uncovered in the Lviv region.
The deputy director of a district hospital in the Lviv region organized an illegal scheme to receive funds from a Lviv resident. He promised to arrange fake diagnoses and facilitate the establishment of disability for 10,000 – 15,000 US dollars. Two other doctors were involved in executing the scheme.
The suspects arranged medical documentation without actual patient treatment. The money was transferred in parts, and the total amount reached 8,300 U.S. dollars. The actions are qualified as the acceptance of undue benefit by a public official, accompanied by extortion.
“Investigative actions are ongoing,” stated the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office statement.
