A scheme involving the procurement of generators for a military unit has been uncovered in the Lviv region.
In the fall of 2022, a commander, acting chief of the electrical engineering service, and a civilian engaged two fictitious companies for the supply of generators. These companies lacked technical capabilities, storages, and conducted no real business activities, with their leaders only formally appointed.
The suspects entered false information about the equipment costs in the documentation – prices significantly exceeded the market average. They signed contracts for the supply of 152 generators with a total value of over 31 million UAH. According to expert conclusions, the state overpaid more than 18 million UAH.
The accomplices were exposed and detained. They have been notified of suspicion and had preventive measures imposed, which prosecutors consider to be too lenient and are appealing.
