In the Lviv region, rescuers extinguished 37 fires in the ecosystem over the past day, which destroyed over 2 hectares of land. The fire left behind only blackened remains, threatening nearby homes and the ecosystem. Thanks to the professionalism of the emergency services, the spread of the flames was halted, and citizens’ property was saved from destruction, as reported by Lviv Region’s State Emergency Service.
Rescuers emphasise that burning dry grass is a crime against nature and people’s safety. Windy weather can turn a small fire into an uncontrollable force within minutes. They urge adherence to fire safety rules and not to become the cause of scorched earth.
Local residents express the opinion that the lack of fines contributes to the increase in the number of fires. They believe that the responsibility for such actions should be stricter to reduce the number of arsonists.
