In Lviv region eight dry vegetation fires extinguished in 24 hours

In Lviv region over the past 24 hours, rescuers have extinguished 8 dry vegetation fires. The flames scorched more than 2,400 square metres of land, destroying vegetation, killing animals, filling the air with smoke and creating a danger to people and residential buildings.

The State Emergency Service (ДСНС) stresses that fires in ecosystems are mostly caused by human carelessness or the deliberate burning of dry vegetation.

The burning of dry grass, leaves, rubbish and other plant waste is prohibited by law and carries administrative liability. The fine for citizens ranges from 3,060 to 6,120 hryvnias.

Rescuers urge people not to burn dry vegetation, to protect the environment and their own safety. In the event of a fire, you must immediately call 101 or 112.
