In Lviv Region, 2.9 Hectares Burned in a Day Due to Fires

In the Lviv region, in just one day, 59 fires occurred, destroying over 2.9 hectares of ecologically important areas. This undoubtedly causes concern among residents, as such actions can easily bring fire to residential homes. This was reported by Lviv Region’s SES.

The problem of grass burning is quite serious. It burns away all living things in the area, destroying insects and small animals that have no chance to escape. Moreover, the air is poisoned, forcing people to breathe harmful smoke, and it also diverts resources of rescuers that might be needed in real emergencies.

Citizens are urged not to be indifferent, as such behaviour destroys our shared future. Village headmen know the arsonists but remain silent. It is worth joining efforts to prevent this evil.
