In Lviv region over 270 units of unregistered weapons declared

In Lviv region the declaration of unregistered weapons is ongoing, which citizens possess without the requisite permits. This was reported by the Lviv Region Police.

Law enforcement officers remind the public that a person who voluntarily applies to a territorial police unit to declare weapons kept without a permit will not be held criminally liable and will be able to register these weapons in their own name.

Since the start of the declaration campaign, 261 citizens have applied to police units in Lviv region. In total, 278 units of firearms have been declared, including:

  • 122 automatic rifles;
  • 17 carbines and rifles;
  • 4 units of combination weapons;
  • 111 shotguns;
  • 24 pistols and revolvers;
  • around 107,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibres.

The police note that if firearms or ammunition are discovered, they must be declared without delay at the units of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
