During the first four months of 2026, Lviv Region recorded 157 road accidents involving pedestrians, resulting in injuries to 150 individuals. Unfortunately, 17 people lost their lives in these incidents. This statistic highlights the necessity for pedestrians and drivers to strictly adhere to the rules.
Drivers are reminded to reduce speed before pedestrian crossings, as pedestrians have right of way at uncontrolled crossings. Additionally, pedestrians should only cross at designated places and only on a green light or when directed to do so by a traffic officer.
Emphasis is placed on the prohibition of suddenly stepping onto the roadway. All road users must be responsible and precisely follow traffic regulations to ensure safety on the roads.
