
Over the past day in the Lviv region, there have been two fatal accidents involving motorcyclists. Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of both incidents and urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations.
The first accident occurred on 17 May at around 07:45 on Zelena Street in Lviv. The driver of a Yamaha MT-07 motorcycle, a 22-year-old resident of Lviv, lost control and crashed into a tree. Unfortunately, the injuries proved fatal.
Another road traffic accident happened at 16:30 in the village of Lysovychi, Stryi district. A VAZ-2109, driven by a 78-year-old local resident, collided with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which was operated by a 44-year-old resident of the Stryi district. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
In both cases, investigators have initiated criminal proceedings according to part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for a penalty in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years and deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
