In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers detained a village council deputy suspected of taking a bribe.
According to the police, the deputy, who is a member of the permanent commission on land use, construction, and architecture issues, demanded and received a thousand dollars for changing the designated purpose of a land plot. The perpetrator was exposed by investigators from the department for investigating crimes in the field of economic and official activities of the Lviv police, together with SBU operatives in the Lviv region.
On June 26, the person involved was detained in his office after receiving the entire amount of the unlawful benefit. He was informed of the suspicion of committing a crime provided for in part 3 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with confiscation of property.
