The security service exposed and blocked a scheme to extort money from a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
In the Lviv region, the head of the department of the military medical facility was detained, who offered the wounded defender to “solve” the issue of his release from further service.
For a considerable bribe, the official guaranteed to provide the opinion of the medical commission that the state of health of the serviceman is limitedly fit for service in wartime and unfit for military service in peacetime.
Services for the production of relevant documents of the business were estimated at $ 1,000.
The perpetrator turned out to be a 50-year-old head of one of the departments of a military medical institution in the region.
The police arrested the man “red handed” in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine during the receipt of the entire amount of unlawful benefit.
He has already been notified of suspicion under Article 369-2 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision-making by a person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local self-government, combined with the demand for such benefit) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court chose a measure of preventive measure – custody with an alternative to bail. The investigation is ongoing.
Other persons involved in the specified illegal scheme are also being identified.
