In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers exposed a criminal suspected of human trafficking
The woman organized the departure of girls to European countries in order to further employ them in the sex industry. The female figure faces imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.
A 27-year-old resident of the Kharkiv region was exposed by operatives of the Migration Police Department in the Lviv region together with investigators of the especially serious crimes investigation department of the police investigation department of the Lviv region and military personnel of the 7th border detachment of the State Border Service, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office.
As the law enforcement officers established, the suspect organized the departure of the girls to the countries of Western Europe in order to further employ them in the sex industry.
To do this, she communicated with potential “clients” in various messengers on the Internet and held negotiations with them, agreeing on the details of transporting them across the state border of Ukraine, as well as on further employment in the field of providing intimate services.
One of her victims, a 23-year-old resident of the Kherson region, was offered such a “job” in France on “beneficial terms”.
The woman was informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Article 149 (Human Trafficking) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation continues, the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect – detention with the right to post bail.
