Two motorbikes collide in Lviv region: three teenagers injured

On the Kovel – Zhovkva highway near the village of Boyanets in the Sheptytskyi district, three minors were injured as a result of a collision between two motorbikes. This was reported by the Lviv Region Police.

The road traffic accident occurred on 6 June at around 00:01. Preliminary findings indicate that a 15-year-old resident of one of the villages in Lviv district, riding a Lifan motorbike, collided with a Spark motorbike ridden by another 15-year-old boy.

As a result of the accident, the rider of the Lifan motorbike, his 18-year-old passenger, a resident of Lviv district, and a 14-year-old passenger on the Spark motorbike sustained bodily injuries. All the injured were taken to hospital.

Investigators from Police Station No. 2 of Lviv District Police Department No. 1 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.

Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
