In Lviv region, by court decision, 0.8 ha of forest land has been returned to municipal ownership. The plot had been transferred for long-term temporary use for the arrangement of a recreational area. This was reported by the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office.
The case concerned an agreement concluded in 2008 between the Busk subsidiary forestry enterprise of the State Forestry Enterprise “Halsillis” and a local resident for a term of 49 years. The grounds for the prosecutors’ appeal to the court were the user’s systematic breaches of the terms of the contract.
It was established that during 2022–2025 the man did not pay for the use of forest resources, which led to arrears of more than UAH 51,000. In addition, without the consent of the forestry enterprise and without the necessary permits, temporary structures were erected on the plot.
The court agreed with the prosecutors’ arguments, terminated the forest use agreement and ordered the defendant to return the plot to municipal ownership and demolish the unauthorised structures.
According to the report, the decision has already been fully implemented: the defendant dismantled all illegal structures and returned the forest plot to the Lviv Regional Council.
