In Lviv region, an indictment has been sent to court against eight members of a group suspected of manufacturing and selling clothing, footwear and headwear bearing counterfeit Moncler and Stone Island logos, as well as headphones and watches passed off as Apple products. According to the investigation, the total amount of damage to the rights holders exceeds UAH 98 million. This was reported by detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security in Lviv region.
According to the investigation, since August 2025 the organiser of the group, an entrepreneur from the town of Busk in Zolochiv district, had involved seven more people in the unlawful activity, including his wife and accomplices. The participants had assigned roles: two oversaw the work of the sewing workshops where clothing was produced and labelled with counterfeit tags and labels, while others transported fabric, fittings and finished products between the workshops, the warehouse and retail outlets, and sold the counterfeit goods in a shop in Lviv.
Another member, according to the investigation, used his own print shop to produce tags and price labels bearing counterfeit trade marks for goods and services. The products were advertised and sold via the social network Instagram, the Telegram messenger, the Prom.ua marketplace and their own online shop.
BES detectives put a stop to the group’s activities. During searches at two shops, a warehouse, two sewing workshops and at the organiser’s place of residence, they seized counterfeit products, as well as equipment and materials for their manufacture.
“This scheme is not only about harm to rights holders. It also means lost tax revenues, honest manufacturers being pushed out of the market, and the gradual erosion of confidence that in Ukraine it is possible to do business by the rules,” noted BES Director Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi on his Telegram channel.
Procedural guidance in the criminal proceedings was provided by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Operational support was provided by the 6th Volyn Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Cybercrime Counteraction Department in Lviv region.
