From 4 to 8 October, a high, and in some places extreme, fire risk is forecast across Lviv region. This was reported by the emergency services.
In dry and warm weather, even minor carelessness with fire can lead to a large-scale blaze, so residents of Lviv region are urged to follow safety rules.
Rescuers are asking the public not to burn dry grass, leaves or rubbish, not to light campfires in prohibited areas, not to leave fires unattended and not to throw cigarette ends into dry vegetation. In the event of a fire, you must immediately call 101.
It is stressed that even a single spark can lead to the destruction of large areas of natural habitat.
