In car parks in Lviv region, bicycle patrol officers are identifying drivers who unjustifiably leave their vehicles in spaces designated for disabled people and are holding them to account.
Such an offence falls under part 6 of Article 122 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences, which concerns stopping or parking in spaces reserved solely for vehicles driven by disabled drivers or by drivers transporting disabled passengers.
The sanction under this Article provides for a fine ranging from 1,020 to 1,700 hryvnias, as well as the possible towing of the vehicle. Drivers are urged to comply with the Highway Code and respect the right of others to use specially designated parking spaces.
